Okay, it's not a real movie. So what? It looks pretty cool! This is just a high budget marketing attempt for Microsoft's Office. Still, it's fun and cool!

Heroes of Newerth: Just Like Playing DotA

It's a stand-alone game developed by S2 Games, the creator of Savage. It's a promising game that could be the next big thing for MOBA gamers.

Heroes of Newerth is a Multiplayer Online Battle Arena(MOBA) game based on the most famous Warcraft 3 Custom map - the Defense of the Ancients. It has all the functions and features of DotA, the map layout, the small stream in the middle of the map dividing the two forces, the creeps, the towers, the central buildings, the runes and the big bad giant rock, Roshan.

Your favorite heroes and their skills are most likely the same but with a different name. The good thing about HoN is, there are certain new abilities that wouldn't work before because of the limitations on the old Warcraft 3 engine. The items are also the same, but this time the shop is more organized.

So, everything's almost the same as DotA so why even bother playing HoN? The graphics is obviously superior than DotA because, come on, Warcraft 3 is an old game. The characters' voices are also nice! But I do wish Witch Doctor's voice will make the cut, "Dami kong choice man!". Here are two videos of Heroes of Newerth:





Aside from all that, there's one feature that I do like in HoN. The detailed tracking of your statistics, your kills, your deaths, your assists and probably one of the most stat that I would want to know from a player is, the number of times you leave a game. Farewell leavers! When you create a game, you can filter all the other players who can join. For example, b00n7331 joins your game, you can see his statistic that he has played over 100 games and left 80 of them. Now, you wouldn't want this fellow in your game, you can now set a game which only allows a player with a certain "Non leaver" percentage to join your game.

Overall, it's a pretty good game and it's a very promising offspring of DotA. For die hard fans of DotA, it's a great game to try.

Goodbye, Madam Maria Corazon "Cory" Sumulong Cojuangco Aquino

August 1, 2009 our dear former president Cory Aquino has passed away. She died of cardiopulmonary arrest after the complications of colon cancer at the age of 76 at the Makati Medical Center.

She is the 11th President of the Philippines and also, the first female President of the Philippines and in Asia. She is a self-proclaimed "plain housewife" who became the a leading figure in the opposition against the rule of Ferdinand Marcos and became the president on the year 1986.

All of those who loved her are in deep sadness, her family, her friends and those who love and respect her. She'll always remain in everyone's hearts whom she have touched.

Madam Cory Aquino, thank you and may you have a wonderful journey. May the almighty God bless you.
